All of the animals in our program come from private sellers and owners. The staff at KR Training gets as much valuable information as we can to pass along to our clients.
The length of time a horse spends with KR Training depends on each individual situation. Sometimes they are placed with their new owner within a couple of days, sometimes they stay with KR Training for several years as they need time to mature, grow - or we just plain love them too much to sell them.
Once a prospective Buyer has identified their horse, they should schedule a vet-check (if they so choose) with a veterinarian of their choice as soon as possible (within 7 days) and organize transportation of their horse for after the brand inspection to eliminate a delay in taking possession of their new family member. KR Training will schedule the brand inspection and care for the horse until the brand inspection has been completed after which the horse is 'officially' sold and ready to be transported to their new home.
Every horse on our property gets a light mix of hay twice daily and 3 quarts of SafeChoice Original grain.
KR Training accepts Venmo, PayPal, Credit Cards and Debit Cards with a 3.5% processing fee.
Processing fees are waived if payment is made via Cash, Check, oder Bank (wire) Transfer.
Clients are welcome to hire any licensed equine veterinarian of their choice. Below is a list of some of our favorite local mobile vets:

Unfortunately, we do not offer any lease options at this time.
Once an animal leaves our care, we take a significant risk in taking it back as there are a lot of unknowns between when they left KR Training and when they return. In addition, sometimes horses need months of conditioning, and some need medical care. KR Training has the resources available to take on all these issues, but they can be costly. We can provide care to any equine sold to our program at any point in its life if surrendered to KR Training.
A brand inspection is mandatory in Colorado for all horses, mules & donkeys when they change owners. KR Training will complete all the essential brand inspection paperwork with the state for the new owner before the transfer of ownership. We can also process a Permanent Travel Card with the state for an additional fee during the brand inspection appointment.
Additional information about the brand inspection process and livestock laws can be found online at:
We would happily recommend some boarding facilities as, at this time, we do not offer boarding at KR Training.
